1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how "EagleMedia" (the "App") handles your information. EagleMedia is a local-first desktop media player. We respect your privacy. This policy honestly describes what the App collects, what it does not collect, and how data flows.

2. Core Privacy Promise

EagleMedia base version is a pure local application: no network access, no data collection, no microphone permission. All processing (decode, render, subtitle display) runs locally.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

• No account, name, phone, or email (no account system)
• No location data
• No device identifiers (IMEI / MAC, etc.)
• No information about the media files you play
• No playback history on our servers
• No user behavior analytics, no third-party tracking SDKs
• We never sell, share, or trade your data

4. Data Stored Locally

The App stores the following on your device only:

• Playlist: media file paths you added
• Playback progress: for resume functionality
• Preferences: volume, decode mode, rotation/mirror state, UI language
• AI plugin settings (only if AI plugins installed): model paths, translation language preferences

Storage location: %AppData%\EagleMedia\

You can delete all data by:

• Uninstalling the App
• Manually deleting the %AppData%\EagleMedia\ directory

5. In-App Purchases (IAP)

The base version of EagleMedia is completely free. Certain advanced AI features (such as the AI Subtitle Plugin and Voice Control Plugin) require payment to unlock. We use the Microsoft Store's In-App Purchase system to process all transactions. We do not collect, process, or store any of your credit card or payment information. All payment processing is securely handled by Microsoft. If you request a refund, the corresponding plugin features will be locked.

6. AI Features (Optional Plugins)

The base version contains no AI code or models. AI subtitle translation and voice control are available via official plugins from Microsoft Store Add-ons.

AI plugin privacy commitment:

• Speech recognition (ASR): fully on-device (sherpa-onnx)
• Translation: local LLM via Ollama, listening on 127.0.0.1:11434 only
• Models are downloaded by the user; all inference runs on-device
• No audio data, recognition results, or translations are uploaded

Generative AI risk notice: AI translation results may contain inaccuracies or bias and are for reference only. They should not be the sole basis for legal, medical, or financial decisions. Users should rationally understand the limitations of AI.

7. Permissions

The base version requests no sensitive permissions. The optional AI subtitle plugin requests: Microphone (for local speech recognition only). You can revoke permissions at any time.

8. Open-Source Components

FFmpeg (LGPL-3.0), SoundTouch (LGPL-2.1), NAudio (MIT), Vortice.Windows (MIT), System.Composition (MIT), Microsoft.WindowsAppSDK (MIT). Full license texts are in the LICENSES\ folder. For a detailed list, please visit the Open Source Licenses page.

9. Minors

10. Policy Updates
